We should make a Debate Club and RP Board! I've been on the waiting list at AQ for almost a year, and we could have one here for people with not-so perfect records!

Please! I really wanted to join the ones at AQ but I never could. This place is supposed to be a way to escape the rules at AQ, and the "Members Only" rule is one that should be abolished.

Explain what the Debate Club would do, and what kind of activities would take place in such a board. Also, I have no clue what an RP board is.

RP- Role Playing. Example
I attack you
Roll the dice
I counter attack
I cast a spell
Debate Club- Political discussions and debates about recent topics. Example
We should leave Iraq
No we shouldn't
The posts would be alot longer and more meaningfull though.
Now that I think about it we don't have enough members for a good RP board but I still think the Debate Club is a good idea.

I like to Role Play with just a few people in real life...like D&D. I've never RP'd online in a forum, though.
I'll think about the Debate Club a bit more.

I have two ideas.
One:
Everyone could go there, but If someone said somnething like "Fuck youes guyz! I h8 ur ideas!" they couldn't come back to the Debate Club for a week. If they did it again, two weeks ect.
Two:
They have to PM a mod for a password.
If you decide to do #2 I will take care of the Debate Club PMs so it won't take any of your time.

It really wouldn't be much time taken. I'm just wondering, after seeing how these boards and the members have been progressing lately, how well a debate forum would be, because we really don't act too very serious on these boards at all.
Also, since it is your idea, I'd probably just make you a mod for that board.
I'm just still milling it around in my head. You know, you said you've been waiting for a long time to get into the debate club at Battleon, and I'm just thinking that, we really don't have many active members here, so people would either:
1) not post in it
2) want to post in there along with everyone else and it wouldn't be anything different than what could go in the General Board
or
3) it would be a flame-fest
or maybe even a combination of two or more of those.
I'm still milling it over, and the reason I'm asking questions about it, is because I really am considering it.
