Your link doesn't work. Also, if your debate is not working well, start up another one, it's ok. I don't think your topic was a very good one, because homosexuality has been debated so many times already, that people already know where they stand with it, plus "homosexuality" is a very broad topic...you should have narrowed it down to something like "gay marriage", or "gays in the military". Keep that in mind for your next debate thread. Try again if you want to.

Actually, Proboards doesn't have an option for me to split posts into two different threads. It would be probably be better if there were two seperate threads. For now, keep it like it is, though, and we'll work out the problems later.

You could just start a new one+delete the old one...

I thought about starting a new thread with a new topic, and decided against it. This is really just a test to see if people can be mature enough to debate properly *, or if people will post in the debate club **. The in-depth topics will be in the actual "Debate Club" sub forum if/when it is made. If we have this many posts about 2 topics, Imagine the replies when many, many more topics show up. Keep in mind the debate club doesn't have to be about politics. It can be about anything as long as it isn't spammy and is backed up with solid facts and logic. messages about "Should Black cats be allowed to be adopted on halloween?" are fine and great. Posts like the below are not political and yet great as far as debating goes. forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=7524026forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=7528676forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=7259542*=So far its going well. **= We have all four of our top-posters...So, mission accomplished.

I would like there to be an extra rule: like, every debate must have "x" amount of posters, and no one can reply to anyone else until all posters have voiced their first opinion on the matter...but that's just my opinion....lol.

I'm actually thining about a rule that states "You cannot state your opinion in the first post".
This would prevent people from just agreeing with the first post. Making actual debating easier.
I think if/when the debate club is made we should move Matts locked threads into it so the debate on that matter can continue. No offence matt, but I think that deleting the posts and moving them into a postless locked thread is a bad idea. It encourages people to not post because some people think of their post count as a status symbol.
@loh above: I don't think that would work. Then it would take days for a debate to be formed, when with the current sytem a good one gets going really fast.
EDIT- Added 2 new rules.

However you want to do it....
Something troubling me about it right now is the fact that not many people are getting in on it. No one except you, me, and Matt are interested, it would seem.

Jartix posted in the last one.
What harm could it do to just make it, and delete it if it doesn't take off?

Well, that's why we're beta-testing it...to prevent having to do that. I'm willing to give the beta a little more trime, however, I think the debate club would take off better once there is an actual board for it
