I started doing it today. I got lvl 3 and decided to call it a day. You have to buy some papers from the weapon shop, then give them to Rhubarb. Then, do any of his random quests, and obtain Black Pearls....when you return a Black pearl to Rhubarb, he trains you with a new pirate skill for your Pirate Armor. There's no animation, or training quest, you just do Rhubarb's random quests and get Black Pearls....sometimes, you'll get other stuff for completing the quests...like Messages in a Bottle, and any of the other Pirate drops. It gets kinda boring doing the same 3 mini-quests over and over again....but, at least it's not as boring as training up your Dragonrider skills.

Damn....I finished the dragonrider quest skills...it wasn't really that hard....just boring. Plus, the last two skills are awesome, and very useful...especially against Xan. But, anyways, back to the topic at hand.....

I completed the Pirate Class training. It's a highly offensive class. There are some really great attack skills. The ghost attack is like Final Strike, but it does three low-powered Crit hits, so you're almost guaranteed to hit at least once. It summons a skeleton ghost doing your weapon's element.
The parrot does two hits of Nature damage.
The cannon comes out of your back and does one massive hit of Fire damage.
The pistol skill does two hits of metal damage.
The Quick skill is a multi-strike attack, which hits all enemies, but it does TWO hits on each enemy. The Scurvy skill does one hit of poison damage, and it does a DOT over a few rounds. Sneaky...I don't really understand the point of this skill. It unlocks after the enemy misses, and it only does one normal hit. Maybe it has a higher chance to hit, I dunno. Shout increases the enemy's Crit a lot, but lowers their chance to hit immensely for a couple rounds, so they always miss, especially if you have some good melee defense. Limeaid gives you a 25% power boost. Sea legs gives a -20 power boost to the enemy. Sword does two hits with higher overall damage...kinda like Power Strike. Aid heals 20% of your HP.
Like I said, this is a very useful class. I'd recommend it over the Guardian class any day.
