haha...some of those were hilarious. I got somebody onjetime by doing a switcheroo...that was about 5 years ago. I own a domain, and I was hosting my band's website on it. A local music website was doing a review on our band, and named us "Band of the Month", but he hot-linked one of our images, for his article, and it was eating up all our bandwidth. I messaged the guy and asked him to upload the image to his own server, and explained why. He got all pissed and was like :
"I'm trying to fucking help your band by giving you a great fucking review, making you Band Of The Month on my fucking website...and you have the nerve to tell me that hot-linking your image is not allowed? You guys suck!"
So, I did a switcheroo with an image that just said "NO HOTLINKING OUR FUCKING IMAGES!". I also sent him a reply stating that not only was his website violating our website, but he also didn't have our permission to use our image at all, which is a federal crime, and he could speak with our attorneys from here on out if he'd rather go that route. I also told him that all of this could have been averted had he simply saved the image and hosted it himself, because we would have overlooked the use of our image.
He replied back apologizing, and begging for forgiveness. Then he found a new image of us, uploaded it to his own server, and also updated the review he wrote for us, which said something about "These guys are fucking awesome, and they mean business, too....don't fuck with them or they'll shut you down"...something of that nature...lmao
His website sucked anyways...it was a Geocities site, and he was a loser...his site DID get lots of hits, though. Too bad it doesn'[t exist any longer....I think he shut it down a couple years ago when the local music scene took a huge plunge in Jackson, TN, which is where he was located.
