Almost a year ago I joined this forum from a link in Blazes sig. I copy&pasted a retarded story I'd written a year before into the contest thread hoping to be a mod...
I lost. I was pissed, I wrote a rant about how Kabroz cheated (I thought he stole his story from the REAL Kabroz, little did I know...)
As I got my AEOF banned for advertsing, I began to post here more. Eventually surpassing everyone in post count, even the admin. (Plus most of my posts weren't just "I LIKE TEH PIEZZZ" or junk like that). I posted numerous suggestions on how we could make our boards better . Debate Club, RPs, and of course Equipment Comparison. I won a contest , and gained control over the EC board I had founded. This was my test run. I had to try being a mod out then make my descision. If I became a mod I would loose the ability to do War Missions and Contests. I had never missed a war mission or contest... The week ended. I went back to being a regular member. Until one night on IM LoH and myself were discussing the lack of active mods. I used my awesome powers of persuasion.... and I was in! I was a global mod! This changed everything, not only my status as a forumite, but also the way contests, war missions, and lockinating was done. I entered and won contest after contest and did every war mission I could.
Then the "100 Page Thread" came along. It shared the front page with "The Horde" and "My Army of Black Mages" for a long time. This period will from now on be known as "The Mod Wars". Me and Matt led the black mages, we had Spindle and other top members on our side. LoH had... Well, himself and his "Mod Power". Those were the best times, comments about markers and butts ran free. We changed posts to things about butttsecks while trying to keep our "kingdom's" thread clean. Meanwhile the 100 Page Thread grew, it grew and grew and grew and... you get it. One fateful night the thread hit 99 pages. Everyone was posting ad trying to get the coveted 1000th post. Spindle got it, followed by DSJ then me. Then I did something I will regret forever, I deleted DSJ and Spindle's post. I had the 1000th post, but at the cost of pissing off two of my good freinds. Meanwhile our "kingdom's" waged war! Posts where edited nonstop, things were deleted and reposted again and again. Anyone who hadn't seen the original posts was probably confused as hell. Then someone took it too far, LoH deleted our entire thread and made a single post about him "Laying Waste" to us. (BTW, "Lay waste" became popular after someone misinterpreted the description for the level 9 dracomancer skill. Funny thread.) We were mad. We talked it out over IM and it all blew over.
One day I was talking to Spindle through Yahoo IM. He was showing me various boobie related avatars he had. They were funny, we were laughing... Then I told him "Ok, thats enough. You need to take them down now". He didn't want to, LoH had to step in and remove it. Spindle left. Had I accidentally ran off our most awesome member?
Matt, and Spindle were gone. Then Blaze returned! This was late march. Almost April Fools day. LoH and myself discussed an Idea I had had in february about me banning him as a joke. We told only Blaze and Rev then put our plan into action. Things flew out of hand quickly. Everyone thought I had banned LoH!!! I was enjoying this until several of our best members threatened to leave. And they did. Blaze informed me of a secret second forum that our members had created. I lurked and saw nasty things said about me. Someone said they could infect my computer with a virus full of gay pictures, I didn't want that. I contacted LoH the next time I saw him. Before he ended the prank I made a few posts on the seperate forum as "R". The joke ended and the most intense weekend of this forum's history was over.
Things went downhill from here... The forum began to die down ALOT. things got quiet. Super quiet. It just recently started to pick up again. And those are my fondest forum memories.
