I believe everyone should have access to a picture beside their name. Sure, it makes contracts and homework a bit odd looking, and when you have to sign a check....
But anyways, here is how to get your own custom avatar on the chat instead of using the gay ass ones it came with.
Step one: Open a photobucket account and upload your image. It will get scaled down automatically, so try to make it close to a square. Beware though, animations do NOT work. They will show up as a regular image. Photobucket pwns so you should have an account already anyways.
Step two: Click the little man by your name:
Step three: Select the "Choose your own" button. IF you just put the URL into the box, skip to step 7
This will open up in a new window, press ctrl if you have pop-up blocker to override it. Or you could copy/paste the url they give you, but this way is easier.
Step four: Log into photobucket with the form they give you
Step five: OPTIONAL: if the image you want is in one of your photobucket folders, select the folder from the drop down list. If you don't use folders this is unneeded.
Step six: Use the tiny blue arrows to navigate through your photobucket account. Find the picture and click it, a little blue box will show up around it. When you've selected your avatar, click "Use this image" at the bottom.
Step seven: Go back to our chat page, click "OK", then refresh the page. If you did this correctly, it will show your image on the left side.
