Nightmare's saving grace is the Set Effect and shield. The set effect is the best of them all and the shield defends against Drakness and Melee, the most common attacks.
The plate is kinda "meh" when compared to Asgardian.

Asgardian is god. A 900% attack with IronThorn, it's basically a free UM.*
*It's not free, it's 1.7m!! But no mana.

Damn. The price tag is kinda to much for my taste, but what about its little brothers? Are they any good?
Thunder=Angel
Vallhallen=Jesus
Asgardian=God?

Vallhallen has a better attack at level 90 with max stats. But Asgardian makes up for it with the speedy animation and superior defenses.
