War Mission (4-23-07)

J/K. Seriously, though...we've used up almost every quest in both games, and I'm about out of ideas for new missions. The hardest thing about coming up with a new War Mission is trying to make it a half-way decent storyline, and at the same time, make sure both Adventurers and Guardians/DAs can do it, and also make sure it's not too long and boring, or too easy and fast. On top of all that, trying to make new trophies....It's such a headache.

Here's what I want you guys to do this week:

1. Tell me why I should keep the War Missions going, or if I should shut them down completely.
2. Tell me what would make you qualified to be a mod of the War Missions board, and how well you would handle it each week.


That's right....I'm seriously going to announce a new moderator, but this person will only be a mod over the Weekly War Missions. Also, this person will have to come up with new War Mission ideas each week, and post it on Mondays. Also, design the trophy for each week, then send me the file and I'll upload it to each person's trophy case. This mod WILL NOT have access to the member's profiles, only able to create threads in this board, and maybe a few extra mod powers, but nothing too fancy. Once I announce the new mod, I'll PM more details to that person.

If there's not enough positive response to all this, the Weekly War Missions might be shut down for a while, until some new quests are put in the game(s). Sorry, folks, but it's just too much hastle for me along with my other responsibilities, and not enough people are doing them to make it worthwhile for me. Maybe YOU could turn it all around and make this weekly event something better than what it has been here lately.

I'm counting on you guys to help me out here, so make sure and share your thoughts on this. Heck, if nothing else, at least give me some ideas for new missions. If you have any ideas for missions, PM them to me.

2. I think I should try designing the Missions. I'm creative when I want to be. Though I cannot design Trophies, I can make ideas for them someone can do. I can put just the right amount of awesomeness, hardness, easiness, and fun-ness into each mission. Vote 4 Jartix \o/

I like the War Missions.

I've been playing AQ for a LONG time (I remember the days of Guardian Swims and 1200 people online being a big number), but most of the playing I do these days is for either testing or troubleshooting purposes. And most of that involves doing stupid stuff ("Let's see what happens if I wear Chickencow armour and then try to activate the SnuggleBear helmet!") to see if i can break the game, or trying to duplicate the other bugs that people report in the various bug threads. And while getting a sneak preview of things a few days before they get released can be cool, it also involves work...

War missions are about the only time I play for fun. I'd miss them if they were gone.

Get rid of them. I'm sick of doing them and making them.

Keep them. Seriously. I mainly show no interest because I depend on UM in AQ, and then they're nerfing it. But if you include something different, for example ZardWars or ArchKnight, some people might show interest.

I think they should be definately kept. They are both fun and interesting, although I seldom participate in them. The "storyline" is interesting to read.

I think that I have both the creativity and writing talent to write the weekly war missions. Myself amongst other people I know, have both commented on various works I have written and have had almost nothing but good responses from readers. (I know that sound vauge, but I will PM you some of my work LoH.) I could draw the the trophies, but I'm not sure if I could make them on the computer. I would try my best if "elected" mod though. As Jartix stated, I also think that incororating other games like Zardwars and Archnight (Which I'm not too fond of, but can stand.) I love Zardwars, though, but havent had any real reason to play it a lot. Maybe Joust, if people like that game.

Maybe both of us could develop a perfect one together. I dunno. And maybe, for the trophies, I can scan the drawing?

I think that would work great. I could write up a script and objective list, and you can edit it. We can switch every week.

1) Keep them. They're fun to do, but I never get to finish them, 'cause of my low level. But they're still fun.

2)I don't have a reason, I don't think I'm worthy of being a mod here.
