Yeah, even after i talked with Capt. Rhubarb about how things were changing for the worst, his response was "Well, I could always put a button in the game that you click and instantly win each battle and skip to the rewards, but that wouldn't be very fun." He jumped to extremes and was very defensive about it, which made me think he realized that it was a risk he was taking, allowing things to go the way they are. Now, there's no turning back....they've gone way too far to make things fun like they used to be. The only way to make it fun again would be to increase the amount of gold and xp dropped from monsters, and buff the Ubers back to their original glory. Nothing says "two-bit second-rate developers" like a release that you change within a few days after releasing it....and it seems like every single release gets either nerfed or buffed, depending on what it is, every week. However, even if they did increase the gold and xp, the farmers would complain, and apparently, the kids with no life and spend all day everyday farming are the one's they listen to, instead of the people who actually want to have fun with it.

Hey, Matt
I'm not even a Wizard, and I beat the Wizard games. The last guy was hard, but not invincible. It was not a very good Wizard games release, though...the spell rewards were no match for earlier Wiz Games....on a comparative basis....spell power/mana usage vs. monster strength/difficulty.
To beat the Wizard games, you need to have a Magic weapon, like the Reignbringer, and maybe a Heal Wounds spell, and lots of potions. There's also the Lycan Sword, or something like that which has a special which does a mana drain. If you have no mana, the last guy can't regain any mana to do his powerful spells on you.
